Components

The following are the main components used in a cableway.

Traveller – The moving part that, by gravity moves the user along the cable.

Seat – Suspension element that allows the user to sit for the duration of the ride.

Hanger – Handle bar suspension element that requires the user to hang, carrying their own user weight for the duration of the ride.

Cable – The traveller moves along the cable, the cable needs to strong enough for the length of the ride and the weight of the users. The smoother the cable less damage to the traveller internal parts so 19×7 cable is the normally used.

Terminus – The end of the cableway. A brake that can cope with the speed of the user coming to a stop without throwing them off or failing the standard.
